Most ladies who are searching for Mr. Right have dated a few Mr. Wrongs along the way. Jewish Dating mishaps and break-ups can be quite painful, on one hand. On the other hand, women of our generation have so much freedom to try out relationships before committing to marriage, and this liberty comes with the price of a few heartbreaks. One thing to watch out for is collecting emotional baggage! Resentment, bitterness, gossip and other nasty little packages can hold us back from learning lessons and growing into a healthier person, ready for “the real thing”. Being on either side of a break-up is hard, but there are a few ways to stay positive and open to love while you search for your bashert.
If a man broke up with you, it’s good to keep in mind that you escaped an unhappy relationship that would have fallen apart at a later date. Whatever reasons he may have had are valid, even if you were incredibly disappointed. Everyone has the right to say no, no matter how much it may hurt another. Accepting, letting go, and being compassionate with your self and even with him will only help you heal faster for the love that awaits you in the future.
This goes equally for your decision to break-up with someone. Anger, resentment, frustration, sadness, fear, and other difficult feelings push us to end a relationship. However, it is important to be gentle with yourself and even with your ex. Excluding extreme relationship circumstances, breaking up with a man is actually a time to be very loving towards him. Although he may not have worked for you, he will be just right for another woman, so it’s good to remain respectful and kind towards him during and after the break-up. Who knows, you might end up dating his friend!
Whatever your experiences have been with love so far, it’s wise to let go of your emotional baggage so you can be light on your feet when Mr. Right does come into your life.
